Liquid Biopsy DNA Test

Liquid Biopsy DNA Test

The liquid biopsy test is a new technology that will revolutionize cancer care.

The Liquid Biopsy Test is a non-invasive, blood test that detects early stage cancer in patients who have been previously diagnosed with cancer. It is a way to screen for recurrence of tumor cells in the blood. DNA Diagnostics is the only company offering patients a liquid biopsy test for cancer. The test, which analyzes DNA fragments found outside cells, can detect cancer at its earliest stages.

What is the DNA liquid Biopsy test?

Liquid biopsy is a non-invasive and simple alternative method to surgical biopsies which enables the doctors to discover a whole range of information about a tumour through a simple blood sample.
The blood of the individual has traces of cancer’s DNA which can provide clues about which treatments are most likely to work for that patient.
A liquid biopsy test can detect epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR ) gene mutations, which occur in 10-35 per cent of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), which will help doctors to choose the right treatment for the right patient at the right time.

Types of Liquid Biopsy:

There are several types of liquid biopsy methods; method selection depends on the condition that is being studied.

In cancer studies, circulating tumour cells circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) are collected.
In heart attack diagnosis, circulating endothelial cells (CECs) are sampled.
Prenatal diagnosis cell-free fetal DNA (cffDNA) is extracted from maternal blood
Amniotic fluid can also be extracted and analysed.

A wide variety of biomarkers may be studied to detect or monitor other diseases. When studying the central nervous system, cerebrospinal fluid may be sampled instead of blood.

What is Biopsy Test Price in India?

The Biopsy Test price in India depends upon whether it is liquid biopsy or solid biopsy and the type of cancer being tested. Please contact us to get more details

How many days does it take for reports?

Reports may take 3-5 weeks depending on type being tested

How is Liquid Biopsy better?

The Liquid Biopsy is a non-invasive, quick and easily repeatable test compared to tissue biopsy.
Most cancers have multiple genetic mutations and they may not have the same ones in all parts of cancer.
The tissue samples removed for biopsy may not show all mutations whereas liquid biopsies offer an improved chance of detecting these genetic changes.
The test requires only 5 ml of blood, which are much easier to tolerate and the procedure is quicker than a surgical biopsy.

How does Liquid Biopsy help in the treatment of Cancer?

There is also hope that ctDNA-based liquid biopsies may guide precision medicine treatment by identifying unique molecular characteristics of an individual's cancer.
Other studies have demonstrated the feasibility of using ctDNA-based liquid biopsies on a large scale to identify DNA mutations in patients' cancers.
Many other liquid biopsy tests are commercially available but have not been rigorously tested by scientists.
A liquid biopsy is a simple and non-invasive alternative to surgical biopsies which enables doctors to discover a range of information about a tumour through a simple blood sample. Traces of cancer's DNA in the blood can give clues about which treatments are most likely to work for that patient.
Tumours release pieces of DNA into the bloodstream that can be analyzed to obtain important information that may inform patient care. Treating these slow-growing tumours could actually do more harm than good, and "the risk of overtreatment is a major concern with early cancer detection.

Circulating tumour cells (CTCs) and circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA) are the most studied liquid biopsy-derived biomarkers, but many others have also been investigated.
Identification of tumour tissue of predictive biomarkers of response to targeted treatments is now mandatory for optimal patient care but faces several biological and technological challenges. Tissues biopsies also increase the cost of patient care and the turnaround time for getting results can be sometimes longer than those expected by the physician for patient treatment.
There is also hope that ctDNA-based liquid biopsies may guide precision medicine treatment by identifying unique molecular characteristics of an individual's cancer. In several research studies, liquid biopsies have pinpointed ctDNA mutations that could potentially be used to determine the optimal treatment.
